CELMV

WINTER CEREALS / SPELTA WHEAT / MV MARTONGOLD

Triticum spelled L.

Produced by: Institute of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Center, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Martonvasar, Hungary

Spelled wheat variety with high yield potential, excellent winter hardiness, highest grain quality, especially suitable for organic farms

MV Martongold is a true high-quality value spelled. The variety is derived from a combination of the old spelled varieties Oberkulmer Rotkorn/ Balmegg, without the genes inherited from Triticum asetivum.

Very high stable yield. In Hungary, it has been studied for 3 years during the state variety trials, and compared to other registered Franckenkorn and Öko10 varieties, it had an 8-10% higher average yield, respectively compared to the above-mentioned varieties - 101% and 99%

Tolerance - cold hardiness studies showed 40% resistance to arctic cold. Cold tolerance - resistance test results for wheat reaching 40-50% indicate the reliability of the variety for growing in our climate zone.

High protein and gluten content. The MV Martongold variety is similar in quality to the old spelled varieties, and at the same time is more productive and has better agronomic properties, such as those with soft wheat genetics (such as Franckenkorn).

High stable yield.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Spelled is threshed and sown unhusked, with scales!

Each floret contains two grains.

The florets protect the grain from diseases and pests

Early sowing is not recommended in areas with long growth/long growing season in autumn, as spelled produces many shoots in these conditions, which weakens the stem and resistance to fungal diseases.

It is recommended to grow in various types of soils, including intensive farming or fertile fields.

SOWING RATE

Recommended sowing rate for early sowing (mid-September): 180-200 kg of seed, or 200-250 sprouted grains/m².

Recommended sowing rate for late sowing (beginning of October): 200-220 kg of seed, or 250-300 sprouted grains/m².

Sowing depth: 4-5 cm. Germination requires more water than common wheat (Triticum aestivum) seeds to germinate.
